Showing the main entrance and the car park. The car park is not usually as full as this, which was taken during the 2008 AGM, but then there were two Jaguars clogging up much of the available space.

The ground floor houses Slattocks P4 on the right and Hazelwood N gauge layouts, which are retracted when the room is set up for a meeting. Out of sight in the rear left hand corner are Greenbrier Junction, the new USA H0 layout, and Canaan Valley 0n30 narrow gauge layout.
Our Library has one of the most comprehensive collections of railway material in the country and is available for reference and borrowing. We have books and dvds as well as magazines, plans and photographs. The Library computer has a large collection of images which have been scanned in from photographs and drawings. |

We have a well equipped workshop complete with lathes, pantograph milling machine, vertical drilling
machine, grindstones and hand tools. Classes in the use of this equipment are given by some of our more experienced members.
We also have items which you may want to try out before committing to purchase your own, for example riveting tool, bending bars, Noch Grassmaster.
The photograph on the right is Alex Jackson, inventor of the coupling which bears his name.

The upper floor is given over completely to our two largest layouts: Mersey Division 0 gauge around the outside walls, and 00 gauge Dewsbury Midland in the central space. More details on the Layouts page. |

Dean Hall is centrally heated and we have a fully fitted kitchen for tea, coffee and light refreshments. These particular facilities were greatly appreciated by the Wednesday afternoon regulars in February 2008. |
