Other Exhibitors

Manchester Model Railway Society has a long history of modelling to very high standards.  We were pleased to welcome representatives of three of the specialist fine scale modelling organisations, together with other groups involved with modelling and study of prototype railways.

The 2mm Scale Association exists to promote and facilitate modelling at the scale of 2mm:1ft. The scale has a long history as the smallest practical finescale standard.  Their stand is located in Hall A/B next to the newest 2mm Fine Scale exhibition layout Drws y Nant which is making only its second public appearance.  More information about the 2mm Scale Association may be found at:  http://www.2mm.org.uk/

The EM gauge Society was founded in 1955 to promote a more accurate representation of UK trackwork by using a track gauge of Eighteen Millimetres. This was more than the 16.5mm which was the common standard at that time.  Several MMRS members of that time were important figures in this strive for greater accuracy.  Today the track gauge has evolved to 18.2mm and the Society supports modellers throughout the world who wish to work with this more accurate, fine scale, approach. Their stand is in Hall A/B next to four very contrasting EM layouts, and their website is at  https://emgs.org/

The Scalefour Society caters for the needs of railway modellers working to the scale of 4mm/ft, the most popular of the British model railway scales.  The track gauge is 18.83mm, referred to as “P4”, and is the exact equivalent of “real railway” track.   The Society promotes and encourages the use of effective modelling techniques and fine scale standards among all 4mm railway modellers.  It places particular emphasis on the use of scale wheels and track.   Their stand is in Hall C/D next to the P4 layout Ryburn, which is making its debut at this show.  The Scalefour Society website is at  https://www.scalefour.org/

MERG (Model Electronic Railway Group) is an international, UK based, society for people interested in the application of electronics and computing to all aspects of railway modelling.  Our aim is to enhance enjoyment of railway modelling by the development and use of electronics and computing to assist control and operation of our layouts.  For further details go to:  https://www.merg.org.uk/

The Happiest Club in the Land!  We are a general railway club, that offers members the chance to gain discounted travel on heritage railways.  We also offer further discounts from a wide range of railway themed businesses.  More details can be found at  https://www.railriders.club/
